What Is the Sparkline Stat Card?
This is the small tile every analytics dashboard opens with: a label, one large figure, a change chip and a thin trend line along the bottom. It is deliberately compact so that two or three fit in a vertical frame at once, which is how dashboards are read and how a viewer expects a set of metrics to appear. Enter up to forty points for the sparkline and it is fitted to the tile without axes or labels, because at this size the shape of the trend is the whole message. The change chip renders red when its text starts with a minus, so a decline reads as one without any extra setting.
How It Works
The tile settles, then the sparkline is revealed left to right over a faint gradient wash while the headline figure is interpolated across the same frames. When the reveal reaches the final point, the end dot scales in and the change chip pops beside the figure with a small overshoot. Each tile owns its own timeline, so placing three on the canvas with staggered start frames gives you a dashboard that assembles itself rather than appearing all at once.

Stacking two or three tiles into a dashboard
One tile is a stat; three tiles are a story. Place each instance on the timeline a few frames apart so they arrive top to bottom, matching the order you say them out loud. Because every tile scales from a single width, setting them all to the same value guarantees the figures line up on a common left edge, which is what makes a stack read as one object rather than three graphics. Keep the labels short, two or three words, so nothing wraps at phone width. If you need more than three numbers on screen at once, the stat grid is the better shape: it shows up to eight figures as tiles in a grid, without the trend lines that make this card taller.
What the sparkline should and should not carry
A sparkline has no axis, no gridline and no value labels, which is exactly why it works at this size: it shows shape, not magnitude. Give it enough points to have a recognisable direction, roughly seven to forty, and let the headline figure carry the precise number. Daily values across a month, weekly values across a quarter and hourly values across a day all fit comfortably. Avoid a series with one enormous spike, because the fitting will flatten everything else into a straight line and the trend disappears. If your data is genuinely one dramatic jump, the full animated line chart with its tooltip gives that spike the room it needs.
How many points can the sparkline hold?
Up to forty. Past that the line becomes visually noisy at tile size and the shape stops being readable. Aggregate longer series to weeks or months before entering them, or move to the full line chart card.
How do I make the change chip show a decline in red?
Start the chip text with a minus sign, for example minus 12 percent, and the chip switches to the red treatment automatically. Any other text, including a plus sign or a word, uses the positive style.
Can I put three of these on screen at the same time?
Yes, and that is what the card is sized for. Add the element three times on the canvas with the same width and stagger their start frames so they assemble top to bottom rather than appearing together.
Is the trend line drawn from the same numbers as the figure?
No, they are separate fields. The sparkline takes your series of points and the headline figure is whatever you type, so the figure can be the latest value, the total, or an average, whichever your script needs.
